We worked closely with the builder of this new construction project to specify all the details and finishes of this timeless modern farmhouse. Coming in at a very early stage of construction, we were able to compliment the quality craftsmanship by introducing custom cabinetry, desirable floor, wall and ceiling treatments, and high-end fixtures and finishes. The end result speaks for itself when the house sold in 7 days with 8 offers and a selling price nearly 20% over asking.
EXTERIOR
We achieved the quintessential modern farmhouse exterior by combining board and battan siding with cut stone, metal roofing, and dark trim against a modern white color scheme. A welcoming front porch with a dutch door and barn style coach lights were just the right accents to add a little vintage farmhouse charm to this house.
Great Room and Kitchen
The expansive great room for dining and living has soaring ceilings and a wall of bifold doors that open to a gorgeous bluestone patio. We highlighted the fireplace with floor to ceiling shiplap and a rustic reclaimed wood floating mantle. A large scale Kelly Wearstler light fixture offers a modern, sophisticated element to the comfortable, relaxed farmhouse style. The sleek, clean lines of the contemporary kitchen design are a fresh juxtaposition to the cozy farmhouse aesthetic. It features custom cabinetry with Carrera countertops, matte black hardware and plumbing fixtures, high-end appliances, contemporary pendant lights, and a built-in cozy breakfast nook.
Bonus Room:
We break-up the open floor plan of the main floor by adding a barn door that leads to a separate bonus room could serve as the perfect media room or playroom.
Bathrooms:
Characterized by warmth and simplicity, the bathrooms were all designed by combining modern color schemes, shapes, and materials with the rustic warmth of untreated wood and hand-hammered metal. The vanities were custom designed with quartz countertops. We utilized a contemporary style plumbing fixtures in matte black finish and added mixed metal light fixtures and mirrors to capture the farmhouse feel, yet maintain a timeless look.

By combining modern design elements and a comfortable, relaxed farmhouse aesthetic, our goal was to design a dramatic but effortlessly livable home that is both on-trend and approachable. We complimented the modern farmhouse design of the home by staging it with comfortable, but sleek and modern furniture that mixed organic textures and materials to reflect a cozy vibe. we find that it’s these elements that elevate the Modern Farmhouse design.
